Authentic Montessori Curriculum
Montessori education is an aid to life and is the admission policy that we adhere to. Our school practices the principles of nondiscrimination, including that which is based on race, sex, disability, religion, cultural or social origin. Through doing so, we strive to build a multicultural society. As educators, our overarching responsibility is to ensure all children, with or without special needs, receive the best educational experience possible.
Dedicated Educators
Montessori-trained staff is a foundation for a successful school, so all of our teachers are qualified. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing and respectful learning environment that will allow all children to thrive. We offer professional development opportunities across the school year for staff members, as well as workshops based on Montessori principles.
About us
In 2007, City Montessori School opened its doors to provide students with a nurturing and rich learning environment. The goal of our school has always been to afford children the education that Maria Montessori provided. With our authentic Montessori community in Port Elizabeth, we aim to develop in our students a strong sense of self-discipline, love of learning, contribution to society, responsibility, and courtesy, thereby enabling them to change the world someday. We believe in allowing the child to follow his or her own path without hindrance, following the child's natural interests and innate desire to learn.
